Data protection/your privacy

Journalists need access to personal information in order to tell stories.

If you are working with Jade to tell your story, she will ask for your full name, age, date of birth, address, telephone number, email and/or social media contact details.

You will also be asked for personal information relating to your story, which may include medical details if it's a health story, dates and times of when things happened, and other information. A shorthand note will be taken of your conversation and you may be asked for your consent for the conversation to be recorded. You will also be asked to provide photographs, ether via email or through social media. In order to get a newspaper or magazine interested in telling your story, some of this information will be shared with commissioning editors.

However, Jade WILL NOT share any of your contact details with any other organisation without your specific consent.

Information given to Belfast News & Features is stored electronically (password protected) and within a journalist's notebook, which is standard practice for the industry. Recordings are also stored behind password protection.
